Even if a "misinformation" in a film passed the censor test, it "has to be stopped", it said in an apparent defence of the protests against the scenes and the demand for their removal.
In a related legal development, the Madras High Court Friday restrained the police from arresting the film's director A R Murugadoss till November 27.
According to the reports, Sarkar is the sixth film of Vijay to have crossed the 100-Crore mark at the worldwide box office.
"The protests (against the film) will not continue", he told reporters here. He too tweeted that a government that can't accept criticism can go off the tangent.

When asked about AIADMK's opposition to "Sarkar", Mr Palaniswami said the issue has been settled.

Tamil Nadu Law minister CV Shanmugam was quoted by Times Now, "Through this movie, an attempt is made to instigate violence in society". In that scene, he's seen throwing a mixer-grinder into a fire with the picture of the chief minister.
