The report from Variety also indicates that Loki and Scarlet Witch won't be the only Marvel superheroes getting their own shows. The Star Wars series reportedly has an approximate budget of $100 million for its first 10 episode season, one of the highest budgets for a series in history and according to the trade, Disney may be looking to do the same as the new Marvel series will rival the budgets of major motion picture productions. Marvel Studios will produce the shows, with Kevin Feige involved in a hands-on capacity. "Then they [Vision and her family] have to tell her that she was make-believing the entire time, and she has a very traumatic experience and screams, and kills all the mutants - but that's an X-Men story, so we'd have to adjust the ending". There have been exceptions, mostly on Agents of SHIELD where Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and Jamie Alexander (Sif) all appeared, albeit early in the shows' run. The studio has remained silent about numerous specifics regarding their upcoming streaming service.
Marvel previously streamed shows on Netflix - Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, etc - and also produced series for networks such as ABC (Agent Carter) and Freeform (Cloak & Dagger). No story details for the new shows were referenced in the report.
The trade publication said that the actors who play the characters on the big screen are being tapped to also star in the small screen versions. This possibly puts Netflix's Marvel shows at a disadvantage - all the might of the Marvel/Disney empire could be going towards the Disney Play Marvel shows, leaving the Marvel Netflix titles out in the cold.
Disney's streaming service will reportedly include limited series starring Loki, Scarlet Witch, and more
When Disney eventually launches its forthcoming online streaming platform, they'll be entering an extremely saturated market. If they can swing that, it would be a huge game changer as far as Marvel TV entities go. That means we could seen be seeing six more hours of Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief, even if his brother Thor isn't along for the ride.
