Two candidates endorsed by President Donald Trump are locked in tight races, with votes from Tuesday's elections still left to count. Whatever the final outcome of Tuesday's vote, Balderson and O'Connor will face each other again in November.
Kansas Republicans were fighting among themselves in a battle for governor, where Secretary of State Kris Kobach was trying to unseat Governor Jeff Colyer. Green Party candidate Joe Manchik is also running for the seat. Troy Balderson (R., Zanesville) was up over Democrat Danny O'Connor, of Westerville, with 50.1 percent of the unofficial vote to 49.3 percent.
Mr. Balderson addressed his election night gathering just after 11 p.m., thanking President Trump and Vice President Pence for their help rallying in the district.

"Ohio, vote today for Troy Balderson for Congress", Mr. Trump tweeted Tuesday.
O'Connor, a local county official, tried to project a moderate image, saying he would support new Democratic leadership in Congress and work with Republicans but also criticizing the Trump tax cut. Democrats nominated veteran state Sen. Republican Rep. Pat Tiberi had won nine terms in the seat before announcing previous year that he was leaving Congress to head an OH business lobbying group.
In Missouri, voters overwhelmingly made a decision to overturn a right-to-work law passed by the legislature that targeted union organizing. State law forbids counting of those ballots until August 18. Bernie Sanders and ascending political star, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a NY congressional candidate.
Voters are heading to the polls to decide key races including governor where seven Republicans and five Democrats are seeking their party's nomination.
Sanders, who defeated Hillary Clinton in the state back in 2016, and Ocasio-Cortez lined up to back El-Sayed, who ran on an innovative "Medicare for all" plan and proposals for public broadband and tuition-free college. "He will win BIG in Nov".
Another progressive challenger, Cori Bush, was trounced in her Democratic primary in Missouri against Rep. William Lacy Clay.
