The Mar-a-Lago club is just one example, Trump's golf club in NY and Trump Winery in Virginia also hired dozens of foreign workers. BuzzFeed reported that thousands of workers on either H2-A or H2-B visas have been raped, beaten, abused, starved, imprisoned, or financially exploited by their employers. Host an event at its own Mar-a-Lago Club. Last year, the Department of Homeland Security and, soon after, Trump properties reincreased the cap on H-2B visasquested approval to hire dozens of workers.
In 2017, Trump urged employers to "hire American" in his inaugural address before turning around, raising the national cap on H-2 visas issued yearly, and then nearly immediately applying for 76 new foreign-worker jobs at Mar-a-Lago. But the base salary for servers rose to $12.68 per hour this year from $11.88 per hour the year before.
