Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel would continue its formal policy of non-interference in the Syrian civil war, so long as the 1974 Separation of Forces ceasefire agreement over the Golan Heights was upheld, while continuing to act against Iran and Hezbollah. The spokesperson said in a statement that three positions were attacked "in response to the infiltration of the Syrian UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) that was intercepted".

Israel has largely stayed out of the fighting in Syria but it has carried out dozens of airstrikes on alleged arms shipments bound for the militant group Hezbollah. Israel did not confirm or deny the report.
