Now the latest development in the case is that the Thane Police have summoned Arbaaz Khan in connection with the case. "His software called "Bet and Take" is quite famous among bookies and is used by them in India and internationally as well", inspector Rajkumar Kotmire of the Thane anti-extortion cell had revealed, says Mid-Day.

The sources claimed that there was a dispute going on between the two of them on this issue as Arbaaz was not paying. Jalan was allegedly trying to extort money from him.

The alleged kingpin of the betting scandal turned out to be a bookie named Sonu Jalan/Malad, with his connection with Dawood Ibrahim's D-Company also becoming a matter of investigation. Jalan was previously arrested for betting during IPL in 2008. He was arrested from Kalyan court in Mumbai. Jalan reportedly worked for a bookie who goes by the name "Junior Kolkata".
The Investigating Officer, Pradeep Sharma said, the police are presently working to verify whether Arbaz khan indulged in any match fixing or not.
