Of those who reached the top of the mountain this season, it's worth mentioning Kami Rita Sherpa who has summited for a record 22 time.
With the ascent of 8,848-meter high Qomolangma, 48-year-old Sherpa has set a new record by climbing the world's highest peak for maximum times.
"Kami Rita Sherpa reached the summit this morning at around 8:30 a.m. local time along with other climbers", Gyanendra Shrestha, an official at the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, told Xinhua via telephone from the base camp.
His record of 21 summits was shared by Nepali climbers Apa Sherpa and Phurba Tashi Sherpa, both of whom have already announced retirement.
Lhakpa stood at the top of Everest early on Wednesday too.

Everest oxygen failure accidents avoided
Kami Rita apparently hopes to reach 25 times before retiring. She now lives in the U.S. and works at a departmental store.
She joined her first Everest expedition in 2000.
Meanwhile, a 69-year-old double amputee climber from China flew on a helicopter from Everest to Kathmandu on Wednesday, two days after climbing the mountain.
"There are fewer ladders compared to previous years and hardly any complex features to climb and cross", said Ang Sarki Sherpa.
Several veteran climbers and well-respected Western climbing companies have moved their expeditions to the northern side of the mountain in Tibet in recent years, saying rising temperatures and inexperienced climbers have made the icefall more vulnerable.
"The risks are higher when 99 percent of climbers are going up as tourists", said Reinhold Messner, an Italian climber who was the first to ascend Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen.

USA airline Delta ( DAL ) and European clothing retailer Zara also came under fire over similar issues on their websites in China. Other T-shirts in the range show San Francisco, Paris, Japan and Canada but are decorated with national flags rather than maps.
