Created at the height of the industry's boom - and the brainchild of Randy Schueller, David Michelinie, Mike Zeck, and Todd McFarlane - the character first appeared as a black replacement costume for Spider-Man. Will we get to see the villain's symbiote-stricken visage in a future Venom trailer, or is Sony saving this for the big show?
Among the many, many movies we're excited to see in 2018 is Marvel's Venom, starring Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams. Homecoming, a Sony film which is directly part of the MCU (and features an extended appearance from Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man), Venom will be on its own track, though it will technically take place in the same world.
What did you think of the first Venom trailer? But with a great cast list, including Tom Hardy, and an interesting trailer debut, those nerves can be relaxed a bit. The accident may also refer to what appears to be the crash of an alien spaceship, which is presumably how the symbiote (or symbiotes) get to Earth.
Mourinho, Ferguson join fans at 60th anniversary of Munich air disaster
The likes of Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Alex Ferguson were seen at the memorial, among Jose Mourinho and numerous United players. It was tough but a pleasure to be part of it and as I said I thought it was very fitting.
But this is very much a teaser.
However, another fan responded, "If it's too early to even show a single shot of the title character in your trailer... maybe just don't release a trailer?"
All in all, the Venom teaser is light on anything that makes the film a superhero movie, and fans may be underwhelmed by that fact. Woody Harrelson and Jenny Slate have also been brought on board, although we don't know yet who they'll be playing, and there are rumors that Tom Holland may swing in as Spider-Man. It's hard not to want to speculate about exactly what it is, but there's a lot to tease out between now and the October 5 release.
